Zamir Equities
Asher Zamir is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Zamir Equities, a prominent and privately-held New York City-based real estate private equity firm. Mr. Zamir founded Zamir Equities in 2003. Mr. Zamir serves as head of investments for the Zamir Equities team, while overseeing all Zamir Equities asset management and portfolio holdings.
A native of Iran, Mr. Zamir became an American citizen as a teenager. Growing up in New York City, Mr. Zamir attended Queens College for his undergraduate degree, followed by New York University for his graduate work in finance and business administration.
Prior to founding Zamir Equities, Mr. Zamir, along with his brothers, Yehuda and Morad, built a successful, global manufacturer and distributor of diamonds and fine jewelry, with facilities in Tel Aviv, Israel and Mumbai, India.
In 1991, Mr. Zamir began including infrastructure and commercial real estate assets in his investing portfolio. Currently, Zamir Equities owns and manages cumulative properties in excess of a $300 million, and 1.5 million square feet. Recognized for their astute acquisition proficiency, along with unparalleled real estate management, leasing and marketing experience, Zamir Equities specializes in risk-adjusted market returns in both undervalued and stabilized real estate assets. Zamir Equities is headquartered in the heart of midtown Manhattan in the Fred F. French Building, a magnificent 38-story art deco building, and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
Mr. Zamir is married for over 40 years and blessed with four married children and several grandchildren. Mr. Zamir is an active philanthropist, and resides in New York City.
